After several months of besieging Tobruk, Rommel was still unable to take the port. Meanwhile, 8th Army had plans of its own. On November 18th, the British launched Operation Crusader with the intent of relieving the Tobruk garrison, and the next day saw the 21st Panzer Division racing to intercept the advancing British 4th Armored Brigade near the Sidi Rezegh airfield.
Objectives: Your company will engage and delay the advanced guard of the 4th Armored Brigade as it moves northwest along the road. The advanced guard consists of two companies of tanks supported by at least one platoon of armored cars. Your platoon is tasked with moving east and supporting the infantry positions. If you can hold for a few minutes, the rest of the division will have time to deploy to the west of your position.
